Car Seat Safety Tips
September is Baby Safety Month and we're touching on all things safety, starting with car seats! Join us on Thursday, September 10th at noon on Facebook LIVE to chat and learn about car seat safety with two Max Mamas CPSTs and an expert from Britax! Until then, scroll down for some tricks and tips you can start using now.
1. RIGHT SEAT
Check the label to make sure it's the right seat for your child's age, weight, height and development.
2. RIGHT PLACE
Make sure that the seat you are hooking the car seat into is intended for car seats.
Children should also remain in the backseat until the age of 13, regardless of height or weight.
3. RIGHT DIRECTION
Keep your child rear facing until they reach the highest weight and height limit and are developmentally ready for forward facing. Check your local laws to ensure you are rear facing for as long as the law indicates.
4. CHEST CLIP
Chest clip should always be at armpit level.
5. PINCH TEST
You shouldn't be able to pinch any excess webbing at your child's shoulder when tightened correctly.
